Above average for its size.
I'm pretty impressed with this personal portable cooler, as my expectations were low when I saw the star ratings, but the price was right. I've bought many of these type coolers over the years and I would say for its size, its above average. I can't really speak about long term use as I just got it, but there are things I like about it that point toward longer lasting use. One it comes with its own adapter...One reason I think many of these type coolers burn out is a mismatch between the adapters power and the units motor. This one comes with the right adaper. Second is the use of pads. Pads tend to last longer that spray nozzles, spray nozzles can become clogged over time and are hard to clean or get working again...Pads are easier to clean and last longer... Also pads will conserve water use, while spray nozzles tend to drain water more quickly. I've found in the past that pads tend to keep the unit running cooler for longer periods of time with out running out of water. Spray nozzles tend to use water more quickly and so your filling the container more often in order to keep running cool. Also it has 4 speeds , most have only three...For longevity use its best not to run these at top speed all day long. So I like the four speed option. Overall it seems to have an above average build quality for portable coolers of this size, even those selling for a high price. It not going to replace an air conditioner in the middle of a hot summer nor is it going to cool an entire room even a small room but it should keep an individual cool while sitting directly in front of the air flow. P.S. upon closer examination I notice it has both pads and a spray nozile also its a little bit nosier than some other units I've encountered. Also I have not tried to freeze the pads. I only put ice in the water tray and this seems to work well enough.

Not what its cracked up to be
I bought this to aid in cooling down an extremely small bedroom - cannot fit more than a queen sized bed and two nightstands in it, only to shimmy yourself around to get to the bathroom - because the summer heat in Arizona is cray cray. Loved that it would be delivered same day (Metropolitan area for the win!). Had this little baby in 2 hours or less - and immediately opened it to set it up in said bedroom. Instructions suggest cartridge to be frozen. Well, that was a bummer; looks like I had to wait (story of my life). I soaked the cartridge, according to directions, and placed into freezer. Everything was ready for prompt usage in the am.Next morning, I woke up, did my shimmy shimmy around the bottom of the bed, and in a blink of an eye, fed the cats and made my coffee. I took the cartridge out of the freezer and inserted it into my new Artic Air Godsend. Turned it on, and waited for the cool blast that would signal the end of hell itself....and waited....and waited......nothing. Sure, it was cool, sure there was a faint trickle of air escaping the vents, but nothing like advertised; I think I breathe harder walking to the front door. I thought, maybe it's just in the wrong place...after all, isn't it all about location location location? I placed the Artic Air so the air flow would be directed across the bed. And waited again (I think you can see a pattern emerging here). Still nothing. Then I remembered...Good Things Come To Those Who Wait.....I left the room, watched an episode of Enterprise (worse theme song ever! I WILL fight you on that) and returned with renewed hope. Nothing changed. I could see condensation forming on the vents so knew it had some temperature change but it definitely did not change the temperature in the room. I even thought it may have just needed a little help, after all, we get by with a little help from our friends, right? I placed a fan next to it, to give it a little more umphh, and STILL NOTHING!!!!! My heart sank, for the devil himself would be hard pressed to remain in this room during the day. In conclusion, this is not a buy I would recommend - save yourself the grief and buy a window AC unit. I know I am.

Hope this helps
I give three stars, only because I do love this little box! It's very nice to have a small AC sit next to you on a table when sitting in the couch. BUT the only downside fall i have to say about this unit is it leaks a little water when it pushes the air out.So don't set this unit on anything particleboard or it will ruin it.If can give advise to better this unit, to whom ever would like to buy it, I would look for a small drip tray to place under the unit to collect any water it puts out. That's what I'm going to do next to have better use of this unit😊 I'm sure you could even go to Walmart and look where they sell the dish drying racks stands for those without dishwashers. They should more in likely have trays there. Or check out the dollar store see what they got.Like i said I do love the little unit! I just need a drip tray!Hope this review helps people before buying!
