Instant strong connection
Purchased because the sim holder in my laptop is damaged. This is the perfect solution. Connected straight away with minimal fuss. Strong, unwavering broadband via my sim provider (Three in my case, other providers are available). Now I can connect the laptop to the internet almost anywhere. Very pleased with this.

Brilliant little router
Got this to supply wifi in our boat and get rid of a bigger more power hungry 4g router ,hasn't dropped connection all night testing it on Netflix at work in a poor signal area getting 16 mbps and 7 upstream had mid 30's down stream at home ,it's not blistering fast like 5g but it will supply a stable connection in the boat to the camera and navigation equipment ,very impressed functionality for a very small price ,picked up its own apn settings worked out the box on voxi/vodafone ,powerbank hasn't even dropped a bar of power in 9 hours constant streaming

Works great but…
This dongle works well. Do not believe the “no installation needed” stuff people mention in reviews. This device will load up a drive with 3 folders in there: Windows, Mac and Linux. These contain the software needed to allow the dongle to provide your device and OS to connect to the internet via the 4G sim. This has no wifi capability, so this is actually much more secure to use than the wifi dongle version. I have tested it with various SIMs including O2, Vodafone, Lebara, Three, Smarty, Voxi and they all work without issue. If you have an Asus router with USB port, this will automatically detect and set it as a 2nd WAN fallback internet incase your main internet goes down, and even if it doesn’t you can easily set it yourself in the UI. Just remember to keep your Asus router’s firmware up to date and use the USB 2.0 port if you have both 2.0 and 3.0 ports on your router. An important thing to note:this dongle accepts microsd cards. Despite the 32GB max claim, I have tested up to 256GB with no problem so don’t worry about the max warning. However, if you use it in a router as a back up 4G modem the storage is inaccessible by the router as it would never mount so storage only works on computers.Despite the great versatility, it suffers from overheating. It will work for several hours without issue, but suddenly the dongle will restart itself and flash red due to overheating. This dongle is only really meant to be used as a short term laptop internet connectivity device and not as a permanent 4G backup device on your router. I have read somewhere that you can drill holes in the case to keep it cool but why should we have yo do that? I will see if I can stabilise it but if it keeps going like this I may have to return it. Let’s see

Great Product!!!
Really handy! - be careful when choosing a SIM for it, especially if you want to use it abroad!! as settings on the Dashboard need to be ''tweaked''- do your homework first!! - as it is a Vodafone Product, I would recommend getting a Vodafone Sim!!

Is not fully compatible with my TP-Link router
Purchased this in preparation for the 3G network being turned off. However only functions when plugged directly into Laptop! Wanted to plug it into my TP-Link router for convenience to allow multiple computers and allow my printer to function. It also used up the last USB port .Have managed to get it to work with the router once but it stops the printer working. Also it does not automatically connect on power-up.Will keep it a a backup.

4G for older Jaguar Land Rover Infotainment
If you own a Jaguar or Land Rover of about 5 years old you will know that the traffic (and other) data of the navigation system is driven from the 3g mobile phone signal. This 3G signal is not only 'patchy' but will be switched off in 2023 (according to O2 and EE). This will make the traffic data unobtainable from the switch off date.We bought this dongle to provide a mobile Wi-FI signal in the car which is driven from the 4G LTE mobile phone signal. We now have, in effect a 4G traffic system which also provides browsing and other data services as found in the infotainment system. So far results have been very good and traffic coverage is faultless using a EE SIM.You should download the software provided to set up the dongle and spend some time configuring the device. You will also need to 'teach' your car the dongle's settings so that he can connect to it.We situate our dongle permanently in the USB port of RRS glove box and use the two little antennae. (I'm not sure if they do much). The dongle switches on when the Infotainment systems activates and after a few minutes everything connects to the mobile internet and the data flows. It is well worth spending on this device rather than a less expensive device (which we have also tried but with disappointing results).
