Ordered this to replace a broken home button on a gold 5s. One thing that people do not seem to understand on Amazon is the fact that you will never be able to return ID Touch functionality to a home button that needs to be replaced. I took a shot in the dark with this product, partly because the seller had good shipping and the price was where I wanted it to be for the replacement.Shipping was fast, got the product within two days, but your millage will vary depending on who your vendor is. A little advice to anyone that is looking at this product, you will need to transfer over two parts from your broken home button.1. You will need to carefully switch over the black sticky ring that goes around the edges of the original button.2. You will need to CAREFULLY switch over a tiny piece of rectangular tape attached to a screen with an even smaller grounding bent cable. This was the most challenging process out of everything.My connection worked flawlessly after putting the button back together and I didn't need to follow any guide, just looked at the broken button to figure out how to bend this straight cable.

The button works fine but the Touch ID doesn't workUPDATE:After Installing the button and rating it, I decided to read up on why the Touch ID wasn't working. It turns out the button is specific to the IPhone's CPU so if you replace it, you loose the Touch ID ability. Apparently it has been said on the reviews here too. I over looked it so I am going to add 2 more stars to my original rating. The only reason why I'm not giving this 5 stars is because I think it should be states in the description and also the white color didn't completely match the original IPhone white. Besides that this is a great buy I cant complain about the the price.

Didn’t work

This home button is not a good product for several reasons:1. The touch ID sensor does not work. The iPhone does not even recognize it as having the touch ID sensor connected.2. The button does not fit accurately into the 5s. We tried several times to position the button so it would fit better and finally, after about fifteen tries (I am stubborn), had to admit that the piece just does not fit properly.3. The button is not very responsive. Currently we have tested it and it recognizes about one out of every three touches. This may be caused by number two.4. The button spontaneously pushes itself or thinks you have touched it twice when you have only touched it once. Again this may be caused by number two.The phone was missing a home button entirely though so we will be leaving it on for aesthetic reasons, and for that purpose it does work very well.

So I ordered this as a replacement for my non functional home button, and as far as strictly a home button goes, it works great. As a home button.The title is a bit misleading, as it says "iPhone 5S Black Touch ID Sensor Home Button Module Ribbon with Key Flex Cable Replacement" which makes it sound like the full functionality will be retained. However, by using a button/Touch ID other than the original that was installed at the factory, it will disable the Touch ID feature on your iPhone. I knew that going in, but a lot of people don't and could be misled by the title.As far as the install, the replacement, lacks an attachment point for a ground, which is weird, because the photo does show the correct version. This could potentially cause a short, which only time will tell.Bottom line: Its a low buck replacement that works as a home button, but does disable the Touch ID feature.

Touch ID did't work. Worked for two months only.

Works great. However the fingerprint reader doesn't work. After reading about this I found out that when the cable is replaced the fingerprint reader will never work again because it is link to the processor chips. Major flaw by Apple themselves not the cable.

The phones been working good for 2 months now with this new button installed. No issues. My sister doesn't use the finger print sensor so that aspect hasn't been tested.
