The first AC unit was ordered and on the day it was supposed to arrive, tracking listed it as delayed at the checkpoint in Dallas, due to severe weather. I knew that was not accurate because we live near Dallas and there had been no severe weather in the area. I waited until the new arrival date but when it didn't arrive then either, I called Amazon to see what was going on. I was put on hold, so the rep could call to find out what had happened and where our order was. He told me that the manufacturer had failed to ship the unit to Amazon, at all. He apologized and cancelled the first order, then re-ordered it. Since the name was a Chinese name (Daikin) I asked where the manufacturer was located, China or America? (The "tariff wars" had just begun.) He assured me the unit was produced in the US, so that should not present any problems. The second unit came on time, they actually used a Hertz truck to deliver it, not the usual UPS. My credit card had been charged near the beginning of the process, so I waited to write this review to make sure my card was not going to show a double charge. I'm happy to report there was only one charge. Daikin and Amazon both produced a happy ending here.I am also happy to report that I am pleased with the product. We've been using the unit for about a week now. After our last AC that was very loud, I have to say I'm very impressed with how quiet this one is. I can't even tell that it's running, as a matter of fact, I check it several times a day to make sure I still have it on. (We do turn our AC off when the weather is mild, to save a bit on the electric bill.) The controls are simple to understand and operate. I like that you can set on/off times so that it will only run for a certain daily time frame. This will save us money when we travel. Installation was easy with no "hitches" as reported by the tech who installed it. He showed us how to take the filters out for cleaning, which looks pretty easy to do. Our last unit had an alert that would light up when the filter needed cleaning, but I didn't see anything in the instructions about an alert on this one. Aesthetically, it looks pretty unassuming on the wall, it blends in well and doesn't take up much space.

Installed this in my garage woodshop! It has been a lifesaver with the warmer weather in southeast Texas!I did have professionals install it, so I’m not sure if that is easy or not.

I bought the Daikin 18,000 BTU Mini Split on Feb 8. Just 2 months later, it completely stopped working.A certified AC technician diagnosed the issue immediately: Thermistor part 402-3421 failed. Sounds like a simple fix, right? Nope. The seller told me, “Don’t worry, we’ll ship the part… in 12 WEEKS.”Twelve weeks? For a critical component? That’s a joke.This AC was bought to cool an industrial printing machine. Now I’m forced to buy a second unit just to keep operations running. Not from Daikin. And definitely not from Amazon.Horrible reliability. Zero accountability. Sluggish support.If you like wasting money on hardware that dies in 60 days, go for it. Otherwise, steer clear.

Amazing product! Quiet, energy efficient, well made, easy install. Would recommend above all other brands

This is my second Daikin. The first one I've had for four years in a very hot/humid environment, and it has been a great unit. This one is in a hot desert environment. It is extremely quiet and efficient at 24,000 BTUs. I had both units professionally installed.

This is highly efficient unit that is user friendly. The space it was installed for, has maintained a comfortable temperature in both heating and cooling conditions. Be sure to have it installed by a licensed, reputable contractor as the excellent warranty is in effect only if properly installed.

Fast delivery, shipped on 2 pallets. Not damaged when arrived. Had it professionally installed. Seems to be working fine. Quite. Clean. We bought this for our garage where I spend a lot of my time working on stuff. Have yet to do anything. Just had it installed today. Seems to be working well. I'll update this if I have any issues.

Be sure to unpack everything as I received my box before construction began and now I see it's damaged and past time to return. Returning it would be a big pain because it's big, heavy and arrives attached to a pallet.
