Reliable spreader to fight. the weeds
Our old spreader was old and wasn't working correctly anymore. My husband liked the previous Scott brand spreader so we bought this spreader which is a little larger and holds more product so less number of times having to refill it.The spreader was fairly easy to put together and it's easy to use. Scott company makes a good product and this one works well to evenly spread the fertilizer so that our yard has a fighting chance against all the weeds.

Weed and seed spreader...
Love that it comes already assembled and all I had to do was raise the handle and tighten it into place. Works very well. Super easy to use. Set the dials to the required or desired settings, dump in the feed, seed, weed killer, salt, etc and go. I'm only 5'1" so its comfortable to push doesn't kill my back. Has a large spray pattern so not as much walking as I thought I would have to. Sprays out fairly evenly and dont have to walk super slow but at a steady pace. Can hold an entire 20lb bag of weed and seed. Easy to clean. Spray down and wipe or air dry. Excellent quality, value, and durability. I recommend if you're needing a spreader for any reason!

Works well and holds a lot.
This replaces my old Scott broadcast spreader and comes with an edge blocker easily turned on and off that's a new improvement, as is a much easier dial to set and use. I did find that, like the old spreader, it is driven by gravity, and pours out a lot faster when the hopper is full than when it is down to 1/4. So I'd suggest setting the flow rate less than recommended on your fertilizer package to start, and dialing it open more as the weight of the fertilizer in the hopper decreases. Also, like the old one, if you get a chunck of fertilizer stuck in the outlet so that it jams it open, your fertilizer can pour out continuously, even when you're not squeezing the outlet handle, but for the most part I'm happy with it. It arrives assembled in a large carton, and you only have to unfold the handle. There was no paperwork included, but that might be because the box arrived almost gaping completely open on one side. I'm used to squeezing the applicator handle with the right hand, which is how most spreaders work and found the left hand requirement for squeezing it awkward. This is a much better spreader than I was able to find in local home improvement stores, so I'd recommend it.

A Substantial Improvement…
over the Deluxe Rotary model. The Elite version spreads very evenly, and it is way better than the Deluxe model I have (admittedly about seven years old), which spreads too heavily on the right side and too lightly on the left side (and has since it was new). This spreader throws very evenly to the right, left, and out front. I couldn’t detect any material coming out of the rear (a good thing). Their claimed spread distance of six feet from left to right is pretty accurate. This model comfortably holds ~3/4 of a 50-lbs bag of fertilizer. The dial setting seems to closely match the often-referred-to Scotts Speedy Green Rotary spreader. For my application, the Lesco-recommended setting of 5.5 for their 30-0-10 fertilizer I used it to spread was spot on. I put it through quite the test - used it on five acres. I planned to use it only for about the first 1 – 1.5 acres and then switch to a pull-behind for the remainder, but honestly, it went so quickly that I decided to just keep going. After a good bit of walking, pushing, and fertilizer pouring, low and behold, I had the full five acres done! After I finished, this spreader was still going strong, so I feel pretty good that it will at least last a few seasons for me (maybe more). The edge guard works better than on the Deluxe, but it’s still not perfect. It actually closes the opening for the left side spreader, but a small amount still got through. Honestly, I wouldn’t tout the Edge Guard capability too highly, so if you plan to use it, be ready for a little bit of material to drop once you disengage the edge guard. One con: Sometimes, when the hopper is about 2/3 to completely full, the outlets don't close completely when the handle is released unless you pull and release said handle quickly a couple of times. This didn't happen often, but I wonder if it will get worse with more usage as springs begin to lose tension/strength. It helps to remember to release the handle quickly, not slowly, in order to get the outlets to close when desired.Lastly - I use spray Teflon to lubricate the cables, gear boxes, axles, handles, and the open/close tabs at the bottom of the hopper. I believe this helps keep these items from sticking as time and use goes on, and it won’t make the fertilizer cake/stick to those areas like grease or oil will. Remember to wash it off and let it dry after using before applying the lubricant.Good luck and enjoy!

Pay attention to the price. The sales are good!
I bought this for such a good deal. At the time it was around $80. The big box stores wanted $150The handle is a good height so I don’t feel hunched over. Sturdy wheels and a wide base make it stable and easy to push on pavement or grass. I use mine for spreading salt in the winter.

Designed for munchkins
Mini broadcaster works as expected but my two complaints are as follows:1.) spreader does not extend and is TOO SHORT for me and I'm only 5'6" tall.2.) feels a little unstable due to light-weight wheels which is a blessing and a curse for hanging up on wall.
